The old pictures show significant damage to both the wood and the painted surface. In this they have contributed time, humidity, any falls or fires and tan by lighting lamps.
For the restoration we use different methods, which are outlined below:
Initially by special treatment appears the original image layer. Then follows maintenance and disinfestation of wooden surface with sarakoktono solution and then fixing the wood surface with a synthetic resin and kiromastichi. Where there are cracks, the damaged parts are being repaired with wood pulp. After the end of the processes ,the icon is being applied with natural beeswax and coated with neutral paint.
